As a child, Tracy Tandy would visit the public library beside Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. Then, arms aching under the weight of a towering stack of books, she’d trek back up the hills to home. Each week, she repeated the ritual: Read. Return. Repeat.

Tracy earned her degree in Humanistic Psychology from the University of California, Santa Cruz, where she studied creativity, human potential, and the spark of genius within us all. Her career since has weaved between curiosity and livelihood as a hardback book buyer for Brentano’s, a teacher of juvenile delinquents, a bookstore manager, a machinist, and as a consultant for Disney.

Her final corporate post as a Producer for Broderbund Software gave her the confidence to collaborate with the talented illustrators and musicians who now bring the worlds within her books to life.

Today, Tracy works full time as an author and publisher, seeking to delight children and adults of all ages through her stories, songs, and creative worlds.
